From March 14th to March 29th, MTWorks will be producing the world premiere of David Stallings' DARK WATER, directed by Heather Cohn.
is about the ramifications of the Gulf oil spill, which caused extensive damage to wildlife and marine habitats.

Stallings' DARK WATER uses poetry, allegory, music, puppetry and movement to create this magical world as the animals of Louisiana face the ultimate threat to their lives. Diánna Martin plays Barnacle, an old sea turtle, who is fighting against man's destruction, nature's wrath, and her enemies of the wild to save her children trapped in the spill.

She is an actress, director, and acting teacher who has worked extensively in NYC. Choice performing theatre credits include: Marius (Honorine) Storm Theatre company, Before the Next Blue Norther (Violet) June Havoc Theatre, dir. Ernie Martin; Hello Out There (Girl), Oberon Theatre Ensemble, Theatre Row, dir. Alex Dinelaris; The Oath (Deck) MTWorks; Coyote On a Fence (Shawna); The Trial of God (Maria); The Dutchman (Lula).

Diánna is a proud member of MTWorks, Oberon Theatre Ensemble, The Workshop Theater Company, and The In-Pulse Group. Staff member: Innovative Theatre Foundation; writer for www.TheHappiestMedium.com, as well as an acting instructor for Martin Acting Studios and Hunter College.

Diánna's next show will be a production of Coyote On a Fence in this year's Planet Connections Theatre Festivity starting in May. It will be produced by The In-Pulse Group, the producing arm of Martin Acting Studios. Diánna won a Planet Connections Award for Best Actress in the staged reading of Coyote two years ago, that she also directed, so she is thrilled to be bringing Bruce Graham's wonderful play back to the stage in a full production.
